FAQs
What Is the difference between Microblading, Ombre Brows and Combination Brows?
How Long Do The Results Last?
Microblading can last around 12 months or longer, however there are a number of factors that may affect your retention. If you have oily skin and large pores you may have retention issues. Those with active lifestyles such as regular gym goers or sauna users will also experience pigment loss or migration
Ombre Brows can last around 2 years. It is suitable for all skin types and most lifestyles.
It is important to remember that our skin is unique and we each heal differently, so results can vary from person to person.
Can Anyone Have Microblading?
Some medical conditions and medications may prevent you from being able to have semi-permanent makeup. Please ensure you reveal your medical history at your consultation to ensure you are a suitable candidate. You may need to provide a doctor's consent note if we are unsure about the effects your medical history may have on your treatment.
You must not have this procedure if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. By doing so you could be putting your baby at risk should an infection occur. This treatment is only permitted for those over the age of 18 years old.

What Is the difference between Microblading, Ombre Brows and Combination Brows?
Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic treatment whereby pigment is applied to the eyebrow area with a manual tool to mimic natural hair strokes.
Ombre Brows (Powder Brows) are performed using a hand held digital machine to create tiny punctures in the skin to resemble a make up effect. The brows have a softer front and become darker towards the tail of the brow.
A Combination Brow incorporates the two methods. Hair strokes are placed at the front of the brow and the rest of the brow is powdered over using the machine.
How Long Do The Results Last?
Ombre Brows and Combination Brows can last around 2+ years. There are a number of factors that may affect your retention. If you have oily skin and large pores you may require additional colour boosts to help with retention. Those with active lifestyles such as regular gym goers or sun bathers may also require additional colour boosts to maintain the brows.
It is important to remember that our skin is unique and we each heal differently, so results can vary from person to person.
Can Anyone Have Permanent Makeup?
Some medical conditions and medications may prevent you from being able to have permanent makeup (PMU).
Do I Need To Have A Patch Test?
Yes! A patch test must be performed at least 24 hours prior to your brow appointment for all new clients. The patch test will be sent out in the post, containing a sample pot of pigment and a sterilised lancet needle, along with your consultation forms. Virtual consultations can be arranged upon request, this is especially encouraged if you have previous PMU.
Can I Have Permanent Makeup Over Previous Brow Tattoo?
It isn't always possible to cover over pre existing permanent makeup (PMU) which has been done elsewhere. If the brows have dark visible pigment adding more pigment to them can make the brow area look unflattering and even cause scarring. If however the old pigment has significantly faded you may be able to have a cover up with ombre brows or combination brows. We would strongly advise an ombre brow cover up if you have faded PMU brows. If the old tattoo has caused scarring or is heavily saturated then removal may be your only option.
You must contact us first before booking an appointment if you have old PMU performed by another artist.
Is Microblading Suitable For Dark Skin?
Dark skin tends to produce more oils than that of Caucasian and Asian skin. This is not to say all black women have oily skin, but the products used on our hair and bodies can make the skin appear oilier. After time oily skin can make the microblading hair strokes blend together or fade prematurely. Ombre brows are a much more suitable method for anyone with large pores or oily skin. However if you have dark skin with a normal/ combination skin type then Combination Brows can also be effective.
What Should I Expect On The Day?
You should allow 2 hours 30 mins for your initial treatment. We will identify a pigment colour that is suited to you and from there we will map out your eyebrows using our measuring tool and a brow pencil. Once you are happy with the outline we will then begin tattooing your brows. We will sit you up throughout the treatment to ensure symmetry and to touch up any areas that we need to before completing the brows.
You will then be given an aftercare ointment to apply to the area for the next several days until the brows are healed.
*It is important to note that you may not always get the desired results from your first treatment this is why it is important to schedule a 6 week top up where we can perfect the eyebrows.
Does It Hurt?
Pain levels vary from person to person. A secondary numbing agent is used throughout the procedure to minimise any discomfort. Most clients liken the treatment to having their eyebrow hairs tweezered, whilst some clients fall asleep during the procedure.
What Is The Healing Process Like?
It is completely normal for your eyebrows to scab, flake and itch for the first few days post your brow treatment. You MUST NOT scratch or pick the scabs, as scarring and infections are likely to occur as a result of doing so. Your eyebrows will appear darker for the first 3 days, after which they will gradually fade as they heal. Whilst your eyebrows are healing you may think all pigment has been lost whilst the new skin heals over your eyebrows. Providing the correct aftercare has been followed, the pigment will resurface in a few weeks after your treatment. Some areas of the brow tattoo may be lost which is why it is very important to have a 6 week top up to perfect and complete the brows. After you have had your touch up, the skin will once again heal but the pigment should reappear without any missing areas.
*Please be aware that additional tops may be required for some clients. Additional Tops ups will be charged.
Pre Treatment Advice
Alcohol, Caffeine, Ibuprofen and other blood thinners should be avoided for 48 hours before your treatment. These can affect your retention and also cause bleeding throughout your treatment which can affect the results of your eyebrows.
Post Treatment Advice
Good aftercare is vital to reduce the risk of pigment migration, scarring and infections.
Gym, Saunas and sunbeds should be avoided for 7-10 days whilst your eyebrows are healing. Sweating contains salt which can pull out the pigment from your eyebrows and also increase the chances of infections from the bacteria found in your sweat. We advise wearing a sweatband whilst at the gym till your eyebrows are completely healed.
If you are planning a holiday you should wait 14 days before your holiday to have your eyebrows tattooed and ensure you apply factor 50 to your eyebrows whilst in the sun.
